After repeating her achievement in 2008 and becoming the only bridal designer in Ireland to have received the “bridal designer of the year” title for two consecutive years.
2009 was a very creative year for Delphine…
Another title, the Kerry Fashion Designer 2009 awarded by designers Louise Kennedy and Don o’Neil and Image magazine editor Melanie Morris, no less!
Another 6 page editorial in the Sunday Independent, prompted and styled by fashion Editor Constance Harris on the theme of radiant womanhood, photographed by Andreas Pettersson.
Participation in the incredible Award Winning, “the Art of Kazumi” Show, photographed by Mike Bunn and also published in the Sunday Independent’s Life Magazine.
A new bridal collection and the launch of her very own Little Black Dress collection…which shot in Paris will open 2010 with another 6 page feature in the Sunday Independent!
A lot to be thankful for, a lot of people to be thankful to, here and elsewhere…
we hold them all in our hearts….
Sorry it took so long to update the website!
After winning the Irish Brides Magazine “Bridal designer of the year” award for the second year in a row (2007 & 2008) in March 2008 at a lovely fashion show styled by Tania Grimson and held in Dun Loaghaire’s impressive Royal Marine Hotel, we had to knuckle down and get on with our increased orders!..
We were very fortunate in having amazingly beautiful brides to deal with, they were a joy and an inspiration throughout the year and kept us very busy!… with just enough time to gather a few bridal publications and to end the year with a lovely Irish brides cover for xmas…
The KFW awards winners Delphine and mum Christine with models Aoife & Grace
2009 on the other hand although still busy saw us also juggle an array of exciting new
creative projects!..
The Irish Brides awards were taking a deserved break this year…but we still managed to gather up another award, receiving the inaugural Kerry Fashion Designer 2009 title off the hands of designers Louise Kennedy and Don O’Neil and Image Magazine Editor Melanie Morris no less!…
We launched our collection of Little Black Dress during the KFW…
An add on to our bridal range and couture occasion once-offs that seemed to particularly inspire the judges…as a logical extension of our particular “modern-vintage” signature style!
Inspired by our brides, as the easiest plausible excuse to come back to us again and renew the specially addictive one to one made to size experience, the little black dress collection is now an ongoing project destined to a long term evolution.
Mari and Norma both in HoD! Maire & Julie @ her wedding
Also inspired by our brides was our very special 6 page editorial in the Sunday Independent’s Life Magazine June bank holiday Edition.
Prompted and styled by fashion Editor Constance Harris on the theme of radiant womanhood, and photographed by Andreas Pettersson in the glorious Powerscourt Gardens in Wicklow, it was a very special experience for all concerned.

Mari and Maire on location
The idea was to use real women of all ages and to show their strength through a magnifying of their beauty with specially created once-off couture gowns (by House of Delphine), professional make up (by Paula Callan Okeeffe of Brown Sugar) and hair (by Michael Doyle of Peter Mark)…and to make them experience for a day a professional fashion shoot styled by fashion guru Constance Harris and stunningly photographed by Swedish born Andreas Pettersson.
The team around Niamh Julie ready for action
Well to start with, we straight away got on the phone to our most faithfull brides and now darling friends Mari and Norma, as well as Maire and Julie…Constance picked amazing fashion muse Niamh Clinton and friend and Pr agent Barbara stack and insisted on Christine’s participation to round off our count of beauties!
After a few months of hard work creating the right gown for each, we were assembled in Powerscourt on a beautiful sunny and windy day…each girl underwent her transformation and the rest is history!…

Christine and Norma in the final publication
A hauntingly gothic magic shoot and an ode to the power of women everywhere!
Showing that women’s strength lies in not being afraid to expose the frailty of their beauty.

Alongside these long term projects we participated in an incredible venture:
The Art of Kazumi live show for the 100 years of L’Oréal Dublin event.
Held in UCD’s huge hall, it was an exclusive night of amazing entertainment!
House of Delphine and Claire Garvey had been selected as the designers who could complement Kazumi’s creative team unbelievable hair and make up creations.
An homage to art history, from antiquity and renaissance to Gaudi and Miro, the choreographed show brought its audience to a world of total beauty and won the best L’Oréal 100 years show award.
The incredible printed and painted hair head pieces conceived by Bryan Murphy and Jenny, and the amazing make-up executed by Aisling Eyre amongst others when combined with the specially created gowns transformed the models into dreamlike creatures of haunting beauty.
Photographed by the inimitable and iconic Mike Bunn in the autumn, these true works of art, appear in The Sunday Independent’s life Magazine Edition of the 13th of December 2009.

After a busy summer completing our orders, we finally turned our attention to our new bridal collection!
Inspired by the various experiences of the year you can find in it a rework of these very different experiences… softened and adapted to the bridal attitude, but nevertheless resulting in very strong individual romantic looks captured to perfection by photographer Barry Murphy!
This autumn shoot starred young Kerry Model Aoife for her first ever professional shoot experience, and with the beautiful 30’s style Make up by and hair by , she performed to perfection…lending an atmospheric smoky and moody look to the whole collection, which can be seen as an editorial entitled “Amour Rebel” in this Xmas’ edition of Irish Bride’s Magazine.
After this marathon we took a once in a 10 year well deserved break to attend my brother’s Korean wedding in Seoul!
Photo:
My brother Ben and his beautiful wife Bomi dressed in a specially created Hod Bridal gown…of course!
We then spent a little time in France…and what did we do?
Another shoot of Course!!! In Paris, this time!
They say no rest for the wicked… and it was indeed a lot of work to organise, especially for young stylist Baptiste Pagès who had enthused us with his modern inspiration for our Little Black Dress look!
He chose coincidentally Korean photographer Dowon Kim, who put in his all to come up with a truly exhilarating editorial that can be admired in the forthcoming Sunday Independent’s Life Magazine of the 10th of January 2010…
Our latest offering to date, to kick off the new year with a bit of temptation!
